Intake Coordinators

Intake Coordinators are responsible for temperament testing new dogs, giving sound advice to owners wishing to surrender their dog and encouraging owners to find a way to keep their animals and work to modify behaviors, suggest "Pit friendly" housing or insurance and assist in finding trainers who will work with dogs and teach owners how to correct and manage unwanted behaviors. Intake coordinators will also work closely with the foster home coordinator on a temporary home for the dog.

There are many skills that we look for when making a decision on whether or not someone is suitable for this role - ability to talk to people in an informative manner, an experienced understanding of canine behavior and psychology, and the ability to assess a dogs personality and temperament while in an unfamiliar environment.
